The business was opened by Barb and Bob Fordyce in 1957 as an A&W Rootbeer Stand. It had a very limited menu consisting of hot dogs, shredded chicken sandwiches, popcorn, Jones' potato chips, homemade rootbeer, and orange drink.
In 1969 Joann and Bud Bemiller bought the business and ran it until 1984, when it was sold to the current owners, their son Steve and his wife Deb. In 1985 the A&W franchise was dropped, and Ashland-Wooster Drive-In was born, with the addition of the drive-thru, many new menu items, and a new look.
The Ashland-Wooster Drive-In is proudly operated by Steve Bemiller and Glen Snyder.

Although we have no burgers, we offer 8 different kinds of sandwiches, over 10 different kinds of side orders, 5 dinners, a variety soft drinks (including our delicious homemade rootbeer), milkshakes, and hand dipped floats.
Hot dog toppings: Homemade coney sauce, onion, mustard, ketchup, relish, cole slaw, sauerkraut, fire sauce, cheese (American, Swiss, & Cheddar), & bacon crumbles
Shredded Chicken, Perch, Veal, Pork Fritter, Ham, Roast Beef, Veggie, & Pickle Dog. Toppings include cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle, mustard, ketchup, & mayonnaise
Add hand-cut french fries to any order or make it a basket with fries and cole slaw. Make them extra special by ordering a cheesy fry (with cheddar and bacon) or a sloppy fry (adding coney sauce)

Dinner choices include 5 piece Perch, Shrimp, Clam, 3 piece Chicken Tenders, and 6 piece Mini Corn Dogs. All dinners include the main item, french fries, cole slaw, roll & butter, & dipping sauce. Other side orders can be substituted at an additional charge

The Drive-In is open 7 days a week and offers carhop and drive-thru services. We are open 11am-9pm Monday through Saturday and 12pm-9pm on Sundays.

We are halfway between Cleveland and Columbus at exit 186 (St. Rt. 250) just off of 71 in Ashland, Ohio. We are two miles west on St. Rt.250/Main St., on the right-hand side.
